My first thought is I need to come up with better post titles.
I'll try and work on that.
Happy first day of March!
Hopefully this means spring is around the corner.
I seriously want to find the groundhog that said winter
was on it's way out.... He LIED!
was on it's way out.... He LIED!
I'm over winter clothes and jackets.
I'm ready for skirts, dresses, swimsuits, you name it.....
(Let me rephrase that: mentally I'm ready, physically I'm not)
This week I have not been up to much but attempting to get back in the routine of things.
Traveling always seems to throw me off and it seems I need a week to readjust.
Working out is not something I have been enjoying this week but I have managed to push myself to go because like it or not, this half-marathon is not far away.
Last night, I had a little "scare" that involed Ginger.
Ben and I were hanging out.... basically "hemming and hawing" around,
trying the avoid the inevitable, the gym.
Ben went outside to get something from his truck and Ginger apparently snuck out.
I was all into my iPad and episode 3 of season 1 of Downton Abbey (good mom right?).
Side note: I'm officially hooked to Downton Abbey now and wish I had nothing more to do but
watch it all weekend
Ben comes back in and starts watching his show that he's all into and this continues for 45 minutes.
Episode 3 ends of my show. I'm about to start watching episode 4 and I realize
I haven't seen Ginger in a while.
I ask Ben, who assumes she has been lying with me all this time, because as Ben said "Why would she be with me? You know 9 times of out 10 she lays with you. She never lays with me."
Cue the panicking and freaking out please.........
We go outside and call for her. Ben rides around the neighborhood. No sign of her.
Ben returns, we call for her again and walk around the area near my house.
Nothing.
Ginger is a funny dog but usually at this point, she would have returned if she were near.
She knows when we clap or do a certain call for her she better bring it.
Side note: It's called the "deaf call." My parents are deaf so when they call her it sounds a certain way. She typically responds better to this call then her name for whatever reason. So when she's in trouble or wandered too far, we use that call to get better results.
At this point, I'm literally minutes away from posting it on the
Lost and Found Dogs of Wilson site on facebook.
Ben decides to ride around and look for her again.
THANKFULLY, he found her at the opposite end of my street in the cul-de-sac.
He said when he opened the door to get her, she came running and was whimpering.
We both were SO happy and relieved to see her.
I tried to use all this as an excuse to not go to the gym.
However, Ben was buying it.
Needless to say, Ginger has been getting lots of LOVE!
This was her this morning before I left for work.
I think she was saying "Be sure to leave me inside the house today, not outside okay!"
Hope y'all have a great one!
